Richmond, VA
MBP provided full-time staff augmentation services as the Capital Improvement Program Manager for the Virginia Museum of Fine Arts. Our responsibilities included reviewing RFIs and change orders, analyzing schedule updates, conducting monthly board meetings, and keeping the director informed on all construction-related matters.
When MBP joined the project, construction was approximately 50% complete and facing significant delays. We developed a mitigation plan to address risks and helped implement strategies to bring the project back on track. By leveraging the CPM schedule, we closely monitored the contractor’s progress, ensuring critical milestones were met and the recovery schedule was maintained. We also evaluated contractor time extension requests for merit and accuracy.
The museum’s capital improvement program included renovations and expansions such as a new parking garage, park, upgraded fire suppression and security systems, new chillers and boilers, carpentry shop renovations, roof maintenance, and gallery floor replacement.
“There are firms that do a good job and then there are firms that do an excellent job, and what I have found is that MBP really does an excellent job. We’re extremely pleased with them. You have done exceptional work for us and we will continue to use you time and time again. We can’t thank you enough for the work that’s been done.”
