MBP provided construction management services for this important community project, which included renovating the existing 4,700-square-foot children’s wing and expanding it by an additional 5,000 square feet. The new space features a larger children’s area, an outdoor courtyard for a community garden, updated study rooms, a new teen room, a children’s programming room, modern meeting spaces, and fully renovated restrooms.
Throughout the 10-month renovation and addition, MBP coordinated closely with the City of Chesapeake’s Facilities Maintenance and IT departments to upgrade the HVAC and IT systems—bringing added value to the project without impacting the library’s budget.
