Ohio Creek Watershed Project
Virginia Beach, VA
MBP provided construction inspection, compliance monitoring, and CPM schedule review services for the Ohio Creek Watershed Project in Norfolk, Virginia. Our team supported the City of Norfolk by overseeing construction activities, ensuring Davis-Bacon Act compliance, and helping maintain the project schedule through regular critical path method (CPM) reviews.
The project aimed to protect the historic Chesterfield Heights and Grandy Village neighborhoods from flooding caused by rising sea levels and storm surges. Improvements included stormwater management systems, living shorelines, earthen berms, pump stations, bioretention basins, raised roadways, and resiliency parks. MBP monitored and reported on contractor compliance with prevailing wage requirements for over 30 contractors and subcontractors, ensuring federal funding requirements were met. These efforts helped the City of Norfolk enhance flood protection, improve community connectivity, and build long-term resilience for this vulnerable historic area.
