City of Chesapeake, Chesapeake New Jail Addition

MBP provided on-site inspection and value engineering services for the addition to the existing City of Chesapeake Jail. The expanded facility houses the minimum-security inmates (grass cutting and work release) and it includes an intake area, administrative offices, four inmate pods, kitchen, laundry facility, barber shop, two recreation yards, search room, body scanner, and detention cells. The facility also houses the vehicles and trailer used by the inmate grass cutting crews. The expansion increased inmate capacity by 192 and increased security and efficiency as well as minimized contraband.
