California High Speed Rail

Hanford, CA

MBP provided comprehensive independent cost estimating and analysis services in support of the California High-Speed Rail Authority’s change management and claims evaluation processes. The project extended the high-speed rail corridor by 65 miles, connecting Fresno to Bakersfield, and continued the previously constructed trackway north to Madera. This section of the corridor presented significant engineering challenges, including multiple crossings over State Routes 43 and 198, the BNSF Railway, San Joaquin Valley, Cross Valley Railroads, local roads, and waterways. To enhance safety and operational efficiency, all crossings were grade-separated—requiring the construction of 32 roadway bridges and 26 high-speed rail bridges—underscoring the project’s scale and complexity.
