MBP provided construction management and inspections services to include schedule management, budget management, quality assurance inspections, and VDOT/FHWA project documentation for the construction of a this new 8,550-gross-square-foot, one-story Museum and Visitor Center in Georgian-style architecture. The structure is a concrete pile foundation, steel framing, and metal stud bearing walls and metal roof trusses, brick, clad windows, and prefinished aluminum trim. The Battle of Great Bridge represented a turning point in the Revolutionary War and was the first land battle fought in Virginia. The museum houses permanent and interactive exhibits representing the Battle of Great Bridge along with the history of the canal system in Chesapeake, Virginia.

“The Foundations dreams have been realized with a first class facility to interpret the important revolutionary war battle fought here. Our contractor, design, and project management team excelled in a complex and challenging funding environment for a unique building sure to become an integral part of the City of Chesapeake’s tourism destinations.”
