MBP provided cost estimating at the conceptual level, schematic level, design development level, and two during construction document preparation; and advised the design team on the cost impact of design decisions. MBP also provided enhanced commissioning of the building energy systems for compliance with the LEED Energy & Atmosphere Prerequisite 1 and Credit 3. Commissioning was provided during the design, construction, acceptance, and occupancy phases of the project. In addition, MBP reviewed the TAB report concurrently with the design team and performed TAB verification services on all air handling units, and a sample of the VAV terminal units and exhaust fans. The project included the Police Headquarters for District 5, which is an approximately 126,000-square-foot facility and contains the 911 Communications Center, the Forensics Services Unit, Traffic Services, and the K-9 Unit; and a 177,450-square-foot structured parking deck with approximately 445 spaces, as well as some program space. There are considerable sitework and exterior safety components to the project as well.

“The City of Durham has worked with MBP on several projects since 2007 with favorable results. The City continues to be pleased with the work that the staff at McDonough Bolyard Peck, Inc. provides and we continue to contract with them for projects affecting our important facilities.”
