MBP Wins 2025 CMAA National Project of the Year and Project Achievement Award for Goochland Elementary School
MBP is pleased to announce that the firm has been recognized by the Construction Management Association of America (CMAA) with a 2025 National Project Achievement Award in the category of Education (Construction Value Less Than $50 million) for the Goochland Elementary School project.
The project also received CMAA’s top honor, National Project of the Year, at the Industry Honors Awards Dinner during the CMAA2025 Conference this week in Nashville, Tennessee.
“It’s an incredible honor for MBP and for Goochland County Public Schools to be recognized with both a Project Achievement Award and the overall Project of the Year,” said Chris Payne, PE, CCM, F.CMAA, President and CEO of MBP. “This recognition reinforces the importance of strong construction and program management in delivering complex projects successfully by bringing together the County, School Board, and design and construction partners to achieve a shared vision. I’m especially proud of Ryan Waldrop and Jim Yatzeck, whose leadership and commitment exemplify the excellence MBP strives for on every project.”
The New Goochland Elementary School project included the construction of a 37,313-square-foot, two-story addition that replaced aging portable classrooms and enhanced on-site STEM learning capabilities. The facility features 15 state-of-the-art science classrooms, extended learning areas, and flexible spaces designed to support next-generation education. MBP served as Owner’s Representative, overseeing all phases from design through opening, coordinating stakeholders, and ensuring quality, schedule, and budget alignment throughout project delivery.
Since 1999, CMAA has presented its Project Achievement Awards to recognize instances in which professional construction and program management have made a significant contribution to the successful completion of challenging projects and programs.
