1. What was your first job?

My first summer job in college was as a project engineer on a local road and bridge project. As a young civil engineering student, I hadn’t yet chosen the direction I wanted to take my studies and my career, but that summer sealed the deal for me. I loved putting on my steel-toed boots, hard hat, and safety vest and watching the project get built. There was nothing more satisfying than seeing my engineering studies take physical form and ultimately improve the lives of the community. I knew then that I was meant to have a career in construction, and I’ve never looked back.

2. If you weren’t in this industry, what career would you have pursued?

I think I would have probably gone to culinary school and become a chef! I love to cook! A big departure from engineering, right?!

3. What’s your favorite thing about MBP’s culture?

I would have to say the culture of selflessness and generosity. If it’s how generously team members give back to their communities, how supportive we are of each other during difficult times, or how we celebrate each other’s successes, we are always there for each other without needing accolades or recognition. Who wouldn’t love to work at a place where everyone genuinely wants only the best for you?

4. What’s your favorite local restaurant or hangout spot?

There is a local sushi restaurant that we have been going to for years. My family loves sushi, but more than that, the owners of this restaurant greet everyone who walks through the door so warmly and immediately make you feel welcome. They let you know they are so glad you came! It is a wonderful start to any meal!

5. What’s one thing on your bucket list you haven’t checked off yet?

I don’t think I will ever reach the stage where I have checked every item off my bucket list—I keep adding new things to it! I hope I will remain eternally curious to learn about and experience the world!
