Kara Benick oversees the benefits and recognition programs at MBP. She manages the Awardco platform, MBP’s Special Thanks and Recognition (STAR) program, and MBP’s branded apparel and is an active member of MBP’s award-winning Woohoo Wellness Committee and a strong advocate for team member well-being.

Kara enjoys implementing innovative solutions and improving processes. She is involved with managing MBP’s Human Resource Information System (HRIS) and is strongly skilled in reporting. Her passion for HR and helping others is demonstrated through her daily involvement and interactions.

1. What’s the best piece of career advice you’ve ever received?: You can do anything you put your mind to.
2. What’s one lesson you’ve learned in your career that’s stuck with you?: Instead of thinking that mistakes are negative, think of them as a teaching moment that you can learn from and improve.
3. What’s your proudest accomplishment at MBP so far?: Getting my SHRM-CP and becoming an Associate Shareholder.
4. What’s a sport or activity you love watching or playing?: Hands down, college cheerleading! It is constantly evolving with new skills and talent; there’s never a dull moment. I have some of my fondest memories from my four years at GMU competing nationally, being an instructor for high school teams across the East Coast through UCA, and having the opportunity to do some coaching, too.
5. What’s one skill or quality you believe is key to success in your field?: Having compassion.
