Cody Bain

Cody Bain has 14 years of construction related experience. He has served as the project inspector for a variety of transportation projects. He has experience in new roadway construction and bridge rehabilitation. Cody has served as a project manager for a state regulatory agency monitoring a multi-billion dollar infrastructure project. He has also served as a project manager for private sector clients helping to manage and recover jobs which have fallen out of compliance with regulatory statutes.

1. What’s your favorite thing about MBP’s culture?: Without a doubt it’s our One Team mentality. We are always willing to help each other, and I regularly encourage new team members to get to know the rest of the team because that’s our greatest resource.
2. What’s one thing you could give a 30-minute presentation on with no prep?: I actually really enjoy giving presentations. So I would say right now with no prep I could give a fairly comprehensive 30-minute presentation on delivering effective presentations.
3. What’s something you’ve loved since you were a kid—and still do today?: I’ve been a bibliophile all my life. I love to read and but I also love books. When I travel, I always look for used bookstores. I love to peruse the shelves and look for new books to add to my collection.
4. What’s a sport or activity you love watching or playing?: Poker, I spend a lot of time playing poker and studying the game. Any kind of cards really, but poker is what I play the most.
5. What’s one skill or quality you believe is key to success in your field?: Building consensus and relationships. People aren’t always going to like each other or agree with each other, but if you can get all the stakeholders to agree on what’s best for the project, you’re going to have better project outcomes every time.
