William & Mary, Virginia Institute of Marine Science, Chesapeake Bay Hall

Gloucester, VA

MBP provided LEED Enhanced mechanical, electrical, and plumbing (MEP) commissioning services for the Virginia Institute of Marine Science’s new Research Facility at Chesapeake Bay Hall, totaling 65,000 square feet. The three-story building features advanced wet and dry laboratories, faculty offices, collaborative workspaces, and conference rooms that support VIMS’s interdisciplinary research programs.

Our team verified that all MEP systems were installed and operating as intended, meeting both LEED Silver sustainability standards and the rigorous functional needs of a modern laboratory environment. By conducting comprehensive commissioning, MBP helped ensure energy efficiency, system reliability, and occupant awareness across critical research and teaching spaces.
