University of North Carolina, School of the Arts Housing

Winston-Salem, NC

Project Detail:

MBP provided cost estimating services during the advanced planning and concept design phases for a new student housing complex at the University of North Carolina School of the Arts. The project included the construction of a five-story, 126,300-square-foot semi-suite style residence hall, providing 444 beds to support the university’s two-year residency requirement for first- and second-year students. The facility was designed with substantial foundations and a steel frame structure with cement-fiber load-bearing walls, offering a mix of single- and double-occupancy units along with shared common areas. Built on the former Bailey Street Apartment site, the new residence hall enhances the student living experience on the Winston-Salem campus.
