MBP was awarded an on-call contract with the University of Maryland, Baltimore (UMB), to provide professional consulting services to any institution within the University System of Maryland. Our services included scheduling and analysis, cost estimating and control, inspections, claims support, management consulting, and comprehensive project management.
One of the key projects supported under this contract was the construction of UMB’s largest facility to date—a 439,000-square-foot, 10-story biomedical research building. Designed to advance groundbreaking research for the Schools of Medicine, Pharmacy, and Dentistry, the building features cutting-edge laboratories and technology, including an MRI suite, nanomedicine and synthetic chemistry labs, a class 10,000 cleanroom, and a vivarium. A six-story atrium connects the two-tower design with interconnecting bridges.
