MBP provided commissioning services for the construction of a new 322,860-square-foot, three-story replacement high school, designed to accommodate 2,000 students. The building features separate, independent four-pipe central heating and cooling systems, with high-efficiency condensing boilers and water-cooled chillers. Air distribution is provided by a combination of constant and variable air volume systems, incorporating heat recovery in the air handling units. The project achieved LEED Silver certification.
During the acceptance phase, MBP identified a controls integration issue between the manufacturer’s packaged controls and the building automation system, which prevented proper operation of the air handling unit heat wheels. MBP worked with the project team to resolve the issue by removing a factory-installed jumper, restoring full functionality in line with the design intent.
