MBP provided full-service construction management and enhanced commissioning for the phased rebuild of Washington-Lee High School in Arlington, VA. Our team managed pre-construction planning, constructibility reviews, LEED support, phasing and scheduling, and contractor procurement. During construction, we provided on-site project management, quality assurance, CPM scheduling oversight, and commissioning of all major building systems. The project achieved LEED Gold certification and was recognized as Best Construction Management Project under $100 Million by CMAA’s National Capital Chapter.
The project involved demolishing and rebuilding the 350,000-square-foot campus while maintaining full school operations. MBP’s early intervention and schedule analysis led to the successful fast-tracking of structural steel procurement, ensuring the academic wing was ready on time. We implemented proactive coordination and claims avoidance strategies, resolving issues quickly and minimizing costs. Our efforts helped deliver the project on schedule with less than five percent in contract changes.
