Architect of the Capitol, U.S. Capitol Visitor Center

Washington, DC

Project Detail:

Market:

MBP was engaged by the Architect of the Capitol when the U.S. Capitol Visitor Center project was approximately 50% complete. Our services included developing two cost-to-complete estimates, providing CPM scheduling support through construction completion, and delivering risk management training and implementation during the final phases of the project.

The U.S. Capitol Visitor Center is a 580,000-square-foot, three-story facility constructed entirely below grade on the east side of the U.S. Capitol Building. The project includes several service tunnels connecting the Center to adjacent buildings and providing secure vehicular access. Designed to enhance the visitor experience, the Center serves as the primary public entrance to the Capitol. It features a 600-person auditorium, two orientation theaters, a full-service dining area, and additional meeting and office space for members of the House and Senate.

“Once again your firm has done an outstanding job of assembling the information from all members of the project team and provided an outstanding, high quality and very detailed report on the financial status of the project.”
