MBP worked as an extension of staff to Virginia Tech providing full-time, on-site project management and clerk-of-the-works services. This project included construction of a state-of-the-art, 1,260-seat, performance hall and collaborative performance lab/black box theatre. Additions to the existing Shultz Hall were gutted and renovated. Creative technology laboratory spaces devoted to the Center for Creative Technologies in the Arts provided an applied research environment with multiple multimedia development studios and editing bays. The project featured an approximately 100-foot-tall fly tower over the stage and a monumental 60-foot-tall structural curtainwall system accenting elements of the performing arts center. This project attained LEED Gold certification.

“Virginia Tech needed assistance to manage the project and knew from experience that MBP personnel could be relied on to fill this need. As our Agency Construction Manager – MBP provided expertise to solve problems, assist with scheduling, and help keep costs under control. The end result of this collaboration is a wonderful facility that Virginia Tech, the region, and the Commonwealth of Virginia are proud to showcase.”
