MBP was awarded an on-call contract with the University of Maryland, Baltimore for professional consulting services and could be utilized by any institution in the University system. Services provided under the contract included scheduling and schedule analysis, estimating and cost control, inspection and services, claims support, management analysis and support, and project management services. The project involved the construction of a 430,000-square-foot, 10-story, biomedical research facility, the largest building on the UMB campus. The facility provides both the laboratory space and new technology for the School of Medicine, Pharmacy, and Dentistry to continue to advance scientific discovery and breakthroughs in addressing the most critical disease categories. It features a MRI suite, nanomedicine and synthetic chemistry suite, class 10,000 cleanroom, and a vivarium. The unique design consists of two towers that are separated by a six-story atrium with bridges spanning between.
