MBP provided CPM scheduling services and design, construction, acceptance, and warranty phase commissioning services for the new high school. The project involved the construction of a new, approximately 275,000-square-foot high school situated on 45 acres. The project included the incorporation of design and building practices that enhance the educational environment, energy efficiency, and sustainability of LCPS facilities from project inception through completion using criteria exhibited within the USGBC LEED (Silver point level) for Schools and the Virginia Collaborative for High Performance Schools recognition program. Included in the program are educational classrooms, administrative spaces, a cafeteria, an auditorium, band and choral areas, two gymnasiums and associated sports fields, and site construction for parking. The existing site conditions and proximity to adjacent facilities necessitated a phased approach to construction of the project.
