Manchester Middle School is one of 12 new schools that MBP provided program and construction management in support of the Chesterfield County new schools program. The school opened for use in the fall of 2020, and has capacity for 1,100 students. This multi-phased construction project included 139,000 square feet of instructional space on two levels, demolition of the existing school, dedicated bus/faculty parking lots, multiple athletic fields/courts and site restoration.
MBP provided program and full-time on-site construction management services, site inspections, public utility coordination, progress monitoring and reporting to the school Board, CPM scheduling review, change order and payment application review, and move management services. Additional responsibilities include coordination with County departments and the Architect/Engineer, attending community and school board meetings, and reporting to the CCPS Director of Construction and Chief Operating Officer every week.
