MBP’s Young Named SAME Fellow

MBP is pleased to announce that Don Young, PE, CCM, Vice President/Regional Operations Manager, has been named a Fellow by the Society of American Military Engineers (SAME).

To earn the designation of SAME Fellow, members must exhibit dedication and outstanding service to SAME and to military engineering. In addition, an important role of an SAME Fellow is to mentor young members.

“This honor is a reflection of Don’s perseverance to promote and facilitate engineering support for national security,” says Michael Prezioso, PE, CCM, Senior Vice President/Regional Manager. “We are extremely proud of Don and his outstanding service to SAME and the engineering profession.”

Young is a retired Colonel of the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers and has been an active member of SAME for more than 32 years. Throughout his membership, Young has served as Vice President for the Programs and Scholarship Committees and is an active Special Events Committee member. He has actively served the Wiregrass, Fort Belvoir, Fort Benning, Fort Stewart, Heidelberg, Fort Leonard Wood, Hampton Roads, and Peninsula SAME Posts.

The Investiture Ceremony into the SAME Academy of Fellows is scheduled for March 27 in Bethesda, MD.

SAME’s fellowship program was started in 1972. In 1995 the society organized its Fellows into the Academy of Fellows to advance SAME’s missions and goals. There are more than 700 Fellows in the SAME Academy of Fellows.
