MBP Appoints Orr as Director of Optimization Strategies

MBP is pleased to announce that Thomas Orr, PE, CVS has recently joined the firm as Director of Optimization Strategies. He is responsible for facilitating project and process improvement workshops, conducting constructibility reviews, developing design and construction criteria, performing life cycle cost analyses and value engineering services, developing program construction market analyses, and performing in-depth building performance and project cost studies.

Orr has more than 27 years of experience providing value and cost management services to public and private sector clients in the design and construction industry. He has been the Project Manager and Value Engineering (VE) Team Leader on VE studies for various transportation agencies, responsible for assembling teams, developing agendas, coordinating workshop logistics, facilitating workshops, life cycle cost analyses, and ensuring quality assurance. His work history includes more than 10 years in the VE arena acting in various capacities on more than 300 VE studies. Prior to joining MBP, Tom held various leadership positions with U.S. Cost for the last 11 years.

Tom holds a Bachelor’s and a Master’s degree in Civil Engineering from the Georgia Institute of Technology. He is a registered Professional Engineer in Georgia and a Certified Value Specialist (CVS). He is a member of SAVE International and the Georgia Association of Consulting Engineers Council.
