MBP Announces New Vice Presidents

MBP, a multi-disciplined construction management and consulting firm, is pleased to announce the promotion of six team members to Vice President.

I look forward to their contributions in advancing our strategic initiatives and providing better project outcomes for our clients.”

Angie Oaks, CCM, began her career with MBP in 1997. She has over 30 years of extensive experience in all aspects of project management and coordination, inspection, quality control, documentation procedures, construction management, and contract closeout of multimillion-dollar transportation projects. Her experience includes management of inspection teams to assist with the development of project controls and procedures and provide technical expertise. Angie is a founding member of the Blue Ridge Section of the American Society of Highway Engineers (ASHE) and has experience overseeing heavy/highway, industrial, governmental, commercial building, and renovation construction projects. As an Area Manager, Angie is responsible for overseeing operations in our Southwest Virginia offices where she manages a diverse team of construction professionals.

Josh Lawrence, PE, CCM, joined MBP in 1998 and has over 25 years of experience performing a variety of construction engineering and management functions in support of owners’ and contractors’ design and construction programs. He is a senior leader at MBP and currently serves as a Service Executive for MBP’s Transportation Service Line. His experience includes agency construction management, project and program management, contract administration, CPM scheduling, resident engineering, and project documentation. In addition, Josh is experienced in cost estimating, constructibility review, dispute resolution, and construction inspection. He currently serves on the Engineering Consultant Leadership Committee for the Virginia Transportation Construction Alliance (VTCA). He has both a master’s and a bachelor’s degree in civil engineering from Virginia Tech.

Omoniyi (Niyi) Ladipo, CCM, CCP, EVP, joined MBP in 2004 and has over 35 years of experience in construction and project management. Her expertise spans overseeing building and civil engineering projects from inception to closeout, including managing rail and transit projects in the UK and the U.S. Over the course of her career, Niyi has taken on a multitude of roles ranging from site engineer to her current role as Service Line Manager for MBP’s program controls services. Niyi has a master’s degree in construction management and economics from the University of Greenwich England, and a bachelor’s degree in civil engineering from the University of Maryland, College Park.

Carlos Sanchez, LEED AP, joined MBP in 2007 and has over 28 years of design and construction experience for a wide variety of public and private projects and programs. His expertise includes federal, healthcare, laboratory, higher education, K-12 schools, museums, cultural sites, institutional, and commercial construction. Carlos is currently a Client Solutions Leader at MBP and is responsible for building and strengthening relationships with clients and teaming partners. He is an active member of the Construction Owners Association of America (COAA) and is a Society of American Military Engineers (SAME) Fellow, where he currently serves as Vice President for the North Atlantic Region.

Gerry Timothy, PE, CCM, CCP, joined MBP in 2008 and brings more than 27 years of project management, design, and construction experience in commercial, industrial, healthcare, higher education, K-12 education, residential/multi-family, retail, and utility projects. He has successfully provided public and private owners with a variety of services including commissioning, project management, construction management, inspection, mechanical engineering design, cost estimating, scheduling, contract administration, and claims analysis. Gerry has a master’s degree in leadership development from Penn State University and a bachelor’s degree in mechanical engineering from Villanova University.

Alek Sergek, PE, CCM, PMP, PMI-RMP, joined MBP in 2008. His career spans over 25 years and includes progressive experience leading large organizations and complex engineering, construction, and renovation projects for military, federal government, and private sector organizations. Alek is a knowledgeable practitioner intimately familiar with industry best practices and experienced in managing all types of project delivery and contracting methods. He has served as Project Executive, Operations Manager, Program Manager, Project Manager, and Owner’s Representative, delivering varying project types such as ground-up construction, secure and critical facilities, industrial, lab, government offices, infrastructure, commercial, higher education, historic renovations, and K-12. Alek has his master’s degree in civil engineering from Iowa State University and a bachelor’s degree in environmental engineering from the United States Military Academy at West Point.
