Service Line Manager

Meet Kim Forbes, a Service Line Manager in our Project Controls Practice at MBP. Kim leads the MBP scheduling team, offering owners and contractors valuable insights into their project’s schedule performance. By utilizing Critical Path Method (CPM) scheduling, they assist clients in assessing a project’s status, identifying and mitigating delays, and expediting project completion. Kim enjoys providing services such as scheduling, as it enables project participants to proactively manage construction and adapt to changing circumstances, ultimately leading to better project outcomes.

Q&A with Kim

What do you enjoy most about working at MBP?: Hands down, the people!
What advice would you give to someone starting a career in this industry?: Network and get involved. By doing so you find inspiration, you make yourself visible, you get to know more from others, it makes it easy to find career advice and support, increases your business connections and value for not only yourself but your company. You also build self-confidence, and you develop long-lasting relationships. It is never too early to build your brand!
If you weren’t in your current job, what would you be doing?: Day trading stocks, playing tennis, and being a lady who lunches.
What is some advice you’d give to your 20-year-old self?: Success is a process. While the big notable achievements are easy to focus on, short-term achievements such as daily, weekly, or monthly goals are just as important—small accomplishments lead to the major achievements.
If you could swap jobs with someone at MBP for a day, who would it be and why?: Julie Coolbaugh, Senior Vice President of Human Resources. People are a company’s most valuable asset and are important to business strategy and improving organizational performance. Leading our scheduling team, I do get to interface with many of our team members throughout all areas and service lines, but knowing more about other team members goals and initiatives is of great interest to me.
If MBP had a theme song, what would it be?: “The Distance,” by Cake. Running a business is usually not about trophies, flowers, or flashbulbs, but going the distance in the face of challenges will eventually lead to reward. Carry forward and push forward.
