Group Manager

Meet Jill Hubbard, one of our Group Managers. Jill’s job is all about people. Her role is dedicated to overseeing and supporting team members and ensuring they’re on the right projects and have the support they need to do their best work.

Her day includes site visits, team check-ins, and planning for what’s ahead, all with the goal of keeping projects on track and setting teams up for success. She takes great pride in helping her team succeed by connecting them with opportunities, supporting their professional development, and ensuring they have the resources they need.

A Day in Jill's Life

As a Group Manager, Jill wears many hats (including a hard hat!), and no two days are ever the same. Join us as we follow her to a local high school project site, head to the corporate office to catch up on emails and attend a few meetings, and finish the day leading her local team at a quarterly meeting.

Q&A with Jill

What’s your role at MBP, and what does a typical day look like?: My role is Group Manager, and every day is different, but I make it a point to check in with at least a couple of Team Members every day.
What inspired you to pursue a career in construction management?: I always loved math, science, and big equipment, so I went to school for civil engineering and learned that a career in construction management combined all three.
What do you enjoy most about working at MBP?: The people, we have a great team at MBP who are all willing to help each other out. No matter what question I have, I can always find someone to help.
What advice would you give to someone starting a career in this industry?: Be open and ask questions. Get out in the field and see the work. And climb a tower crane if you have a chance, the view is amazing from the top.
What’s your hidden talent?: I am really good at following directions and building Lego.
If you could swap jobs with someone at MBP for a day, who would it be and why?: Nichole Dowdy, our Creative Design Manager on our marketing team. Her role is so different from my day-to-day that I think it would be very interesting. I would love to have her photography skills and creative vision.
