Project Closeout
Client Need
Assurance that project documents support and record the construction work performed under the contract in accordance with the owner’s requirements and that all rights have been maintained and obligations met.
MBP Services
The project’s civil, structural, architectural, mechanical, and electrical disciplines are checked for accuracy, completeness, clarity, and buildable design intent. Documents are checked for conformance to owner program requirements, coordination between trades and disciplines, and specialized assessment of risk and construction feasibility.

MBP’s Process
- Review plans and contract documents.
- Review project field records for adherence to owner/user requirements.
- Compare field records to owners required pay documents - shipping tickets, invoices, etc.
- Compare and rectify differences with owners construction inspection staff and/or project manager.
- Maintenance and Operation Manuals – track manuals and operating procedures developed by contractor and verify turnover to the documentation to the owner.
- Warranties – coordinate the submittal of spare parts and warranties by the contractor to the owner.
- Final Permits – oversees the acquisition of all required operating permits and compliance with regulatory requirements.
- Commissioning – coordinate owner’s final or phased move in to the completed project and the start-up of project systems. Develop and implement training and commissioning plan for the start-up of critical facility systems.
- Final Payment – conducts a final assessment of the project, in conjunction with the owner and the designer, to verify that all work is complete. Final payment authorized and documentation finalized.
- Contractor Call-back – review punchlist items and provide the owner with a list of key contacts for warranty or maintenance work.
