Chrysler Museum of Art Selects MBP to Perform Building Commissioning Services

Chesapeake, Virginia - MBP is pleased to announce that the firm has been selected to perform building commissioning services by the Chrysler Museum of Art for its new HVAC and building automation systems.

As the Commissioning Authority, MBP will verify proper installation, operation, and performance of existing and newly installed mechanical and building automation systems based on project design and construction documents. MBP will be providing commissioning services during the construction and closeout phases.

"We are thrilled to have been selected by the Chrysler Museum of Art," says James D. Mascaro, PE, CCP, Vice President/Director of Commissioning Services. "We understand the unique needs of this project and look forward to working with the Museum to create a safe environment for its collection."

The project is part of a $45 million capital campaign to expand the Chrysler Museum of Art's facilities, which will include a new Glass Studio, expanding and renovating the current building, and endowing the Museum.

The expansion project will revamp the 210,000-square-foot, two-story Museum and add an additional 8,000 square feet of new gallery space in two new wings. The additional space will enable the Museum to exhibit more works from its world-class collection and will provide opportunities to showcase new acquisitions.

The Chrysler Museum of Art is one of America's most distinguished mid-sized art museums with a world-class collection of more than 30,000 objects, including one of the great glass collections in America.
