MBP Awarded Fair Lakes Interchange Project

Fairfax, VA - McDonough Bolyard Peck, Inc. (MBP) is pleased to announce that the firm, as part of the Rummel Klepper & Kahl (RK&K) team, has been selected by the Virginia Department of Transportation (VDOT) to provide construction management services for the Fair Lakes Interchange project in Fairfax, Virginia.

The $80 million Fair Lakes Interchange project will be funded by the American Recovery and Reinvestment Act (ARRA). An interchange is needed to alleviate the increasing congestion along the Fairfax County Parkway between I-66 and Route 50. The project will require an additional six lanes to be constructed, three in each direction. Additionally, the signalized intersections at Fair Lakes Parkway and Monument Drive will be removed to improve traffic flow. The interchange is designed to be a grade-separated, split diamond with Fairfax County Parkway crossing over Fair Lakes Parkway and Monument Drive.

Construction on the interchange will begin in the summer and is estimated to last for three years.
