The foundation of our success is the project staff and its dedication to the client and the public to ensure that the project is constructed according to the plans and specifications, on budget and on schedule. All of our inspectors have specific state and municipality experience and understand various specifications and how to apply them. Our project staff is structured to provide specific experience with roadway and bridge work, maintenance of traffic and project controls. Our inspectors are hands-on and manage the project from the field so that quality is never compromised.

MBP has a successful track record providing highway expertise at all stages of the project; from the design and planning stage through procurement and construction to closeout. MBP’s pre-construction highways services include detailed constructibility reviews, construction estimating and project scheduling. MBP has held numerous statewide contracts to perform these specific services, augmenting the services of the owner’s design team, to ensure that the project as designed can be built efficiently and without delay.

MBP’s role during construction is to be the eyes and ears of the project on behalf of the Owner. MBP can provide the central point of contact for all project participants—from the contractor, the affected property owners, and the traveling public to the owner. It is our goal to proactively and assertively manage the construction process to resolve issues as they arise to help ensure a smooth-running project.

At the completion of the project, MBP works to ensure that the contractor has completed any outstanding punchlist items, that all construction documentation and records are completed timely and turned over to the Owner as applicable, and that all outstanding work orders or potential claim issues are resolved. MBP is particularly experienced in the project closeout area, having performed post-construction audits through task-specific contracts with state agencies over the past nine years.

MBP’s highway expertise extends to the area of training as well. MBP has developed and presented a mandatory training class for all new Virginia DOT inspection personnel covering six major construction topic areas. In addition, MBP frequently provides training in the area of construction scheduling, project documentation and claims avoidance for public owner clients.
